Dolphin Theatre presents BLACK COFFEE

by Agatha Christie
Directed by Glenda Pearce

Agatha Christie embarked on her theatrical journey back in 1930 with the creation of her very first play. The narrative revolves around Sir Claud Amory, who finds himself in a perilous situation after his groundbreaking explosive formulation is stolen. In a bid to unmask the culprit, Sir Claud orchestrates a shrewd plan by confining his guests to the library, setting the stage for a gripping tale of enigma. The tension escalates dramatically when the room is illuminated, exposing the lifeless body of Sir Claud. This unforeseen event thrusts Hercule Poirot and Captain Hastings into a web of familial disputes, romantic complexities, and dubious characters. Their quest transcends mere identification of the killer; it extends to the crucial mission of averting a potential worldwide catastrophe.
