Stephen King’s MISERY Premieres On Stage In Auckland At The Dolphin Theatre.
The Dolphin Theatre presents a season of Stephen King’s MISERY, adapted for the stage from the Academy Award-winning film by original screenwriter, William Goldman.
After a serious crash, novelist Paul Sheldon is rescued by former nurse Annie Wilkes, who also happens to be his biggest fan. Annie brings him to her remote cabin to recuperate, but her obsession takes a sinister turn when she discovers Sheldon is planning to kill off her favourite character in his latest novel. Can Sheldon overcome his injuries and outwit his captor before it’s too late? It’s a race against time, filled with humor, tension, and bone-crunching drama.
Directed by Zane Fleming, (Cowboy Bebop, Sweet Tooth, The New Legends Of Monkey) and produced by Dolphin Theatre, the cast is lead by Nick Brown, Head of Drama at Westlake Boys High School and a stalwart of Auckland musical theatre scene, as well as Kimberly Prosa (Black Swan).
