DOLPHIN THEATRE - THE COMEDY OF ERRORS
written by William Shakespeare, directed by Annie Whittaker
THE COMEDY OF ERRORS is one of Shakespeare’s earliest plays, and his shortest. He uses his usual devices of mistaken identity and complete confusion to create a very funny play for cast, crew and audiences to enjoy. Aegeon of Syracuse and Antipholus and Dromio of Syracuse arrive in Ephesus on the same day to continue their search for their son and brothers - Antipholus and Dromio of Ephesus. They are unaware Antipholus and Dromio live in Ephesus and a lot of confusion ensues as each are mistaken for the other! The wives, merchants and nobles of Ephesus are all caught up in the confusion leading to arrests, accusations of witchcraft and demonic possession, and eventually sanctuary in the town Abbey. Luckily all is resolved in the end!
