Stop Kiss

Director - Rebekah Dack

Stop Kiss: A love story that will kick you in the guts...and when you’re down, the back and the head until you’re in a coma.
As Callie and Sara navigate their feelings for one another, they find themselves walking together through the city.

They share their first kiss… It’s new… It’s exciting.

The moment is shattered as they unknowingly provoke a violent queerphobic attack, altering their lives forever.

“…irresistibly exciting…a sweet, sad, and enchantingly sincere play.” —NY Times

Originally set in New York, we have been given special permission by the playwright, Diana Son to relocate the story to Auckland. We are incredibly honored to have her support. By setting the play in NZ, we want to highlight the prevalence of hate crimes towards our own rainbow community.

Embers Collective are thrilled to be bringing Stop Kiss to the stage on 10% of our profits will be donated to Rainbow YOUTH.
