Company Theatre presents Shelia’s Island
This hilarious and relatable comedy is brought to life by an all - female cast and sees four middle-aged women face the challenges of life. They do this whilst trying to find their way out of the wilderness as creatively as they can. Billed as ‘The Office meets Lord of the Flies meets Miranda’, Company Theatre presents one comedy you won’t want to miss this November.
It is Bonfire Night and Sheila, Denise, Julie and Fay are Team C in Pennine Spring Water’s annual team building weekend. Somehow Marketing Manager Sheila has been nominated as team captain and has unwittingly stranded her team on an island in the Lake District.
Our intrepid heroines find themselves making weapons and creating a rescue flag as questions are asked and truths are told. How will the office-based relationships of these women translate when it comes to surviving the desolate wastelands and rampaging wildlife of the Lake District? This is a story of survival writ small, of families, loss, regret, loneliness, and friendship.
Written by award-winning playwright Tim Firth, this play is sure to have the audience in stitches.
